All of Google's spam policies address tactics that degrade the quality of Google's search results. In addition, the spam updates will reward sites that create helpful content with better performance in search results than sites that use spammy techniques. The update is due to be implemented within two weeks and has three main goals to provide users with the best and most useful content. With the implementation of the update, Google will take stricter action against the mass creation of unoriginal content. Such content usually does not serve the user, but mainly serves to manipulate search results. It is irrelevant whether the content was created by machine/automation or by humans. This new spam policy overlaps with the Google Core Update, which was also launched on March 5th.In order to manipulate search results by profiting from the ranking or authority of an expired domain, such domains can be purchased and rededicated. Since the content published on such purchased domains is rarely helpful to users, Google now penalizes such abuse. However, it is okay if an old domain name is used for a new website that carries added value for the user.Google also takes action against websites on which third-party providers publish content or pages without monitoring or involving the first-party website. The aim of such action is also to manipulate search results by exploiting ranking signals from the first-party website. Examples of such third-party pages can be sponsored pages or advertising and partner pages that are independent of and not supervised by the first-party provider of the website. Content that is not helpful for the user and is used for manipulation is therefore penalized by a lower ranking or no ranking at all. On the other hand, websites where third-party content is supervised by the website's first-party provider and is intended for the user will not be penalized. Further information on this part of the spam update can be found in the spam guidelines, which will not come into force until May 5, 2024. This is to give website owners more time for implementation. If your site is affected by a manual spam action, you will continue to be informed via the Google Search Console and can take the necessary steps to have your website checked again.
